Future Foundations – Detroit is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth by providing access to education, mentorship, scholarships, and hands-on career experiences that inspire confidence and create pathways to success.
We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their passion, develop valuable skills, and build a future they are proud of—regardless of their background or circumstances.
Through partnerships with local businesses, professionals, educators, and community leaders, we expose youth to a wide variety of career opportunities, including skilled trades, real estate, entrepreneurship, beauty and barbering, tattoo artistry, creative arts, financial literacy, and other growing industries.

Juneteenth Detroit 5K
Our Signature Event
The Juneteenth Detroit 5K is more than just a run; it is a powerful celebration of freedom, community, and health. Hosted in the heart of the city, this annual event brings together families, local leaders, and athletes of all levels to honor the significance of Juneteenth while promoting wellness and unity within our neighborhoods.
Proceeds from the 5K directly support Future Foundations – Detroit scholarship programs and career exposure initiatives. Participants enjoy a scenic route, live entertainment, and a post-race community festival, making it a cornerstone event that inspires the next generation to move forward with purpose and pride.
